Patrick O'Neill is Chief Operating Officer of Joule Capital, LLC, where he is responsible for technology development and operational deployment of their JouleSmart solution for small- and mid-sized commercial buildings.

Prior to joining Joule Capital, Dr. O'Neill was co-founder and CEO of NorthWrite, a cloud-based energy information management services company that was one of the few to begin offering a "Software-as-a-Service" solution for the facility management market in the early 2000s. As NorthWrite's CEO, Dr. O'Neill led the company's evolution through the rapidly developing energy, wireless, mobile, and cloud-computing business environments before the company was acquired by Joule Capital in early 2017.
b Before founding NorthWrite, Dr. O'Neill spent ten years at Honeywell International as Vice President of Technology and Development, and also worked at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. O'Neill holds several patents and has authored and published more than fifty articles on software, HVAC systems and controls, and building operations and management. He earned Doctor of Philosophy degree as well as Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in mechanical and industrial engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
