Clean Power For Utility Substations - Gencell G5rx Utility Backup Power Solution

Powered by hydrogen, the GenCell G5rx utility backup power solution produces emission-free electricity to extend substations' auxiliary DC systems during outages. Operating as a direct 130VDC, IEEE-693 seismic-certified source of backup power to extend and/or supplement legacy backup battery systems that can provide only 6-8 hours of electricity, the GenCell G5rx solution offers a continuous injection of power that maintains substation equipment operational until grid recovery. Enabling remote control, operation and connectivity, the solution was tested for and found compliant with the strict NIST 800-53 and IEC 62443 framework cybersecurity standards for power utilities. The solution alleviates the need for costly multiple battery rooms, avoids the pollution and maintenance costs of diesel and includes a shelter that is resistant to high-voltage interference and earthquakes.

Gencell G5 Long-Duration Ups

The GenCell G5 long-duration UPS (uninterruptible power supply) provides a potentially unlimited source of starting from 5kW backup power - along with support for peak loads of up to 100kVA - for a wide range of markets, from commercial and industrial applications to first responders, hospitals and defense, telecom and other segments. Designed to be extremely reliable, the GenCell solution kicks in immediately, has minimal moving parts, redundant internal systems and is highly resilient to extreme environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, salinity). Overcoming the significant weaknesses of the most common backup power solutions: the limited duration of batteries, the smell, noise and lengthy startup time of diesel generators and the weather/daylight limitations of solar energy systems, the zero-emission GenCell G5 - fueled by hydrogen the clean energy of the future - ensures maximum business continuity. GenCell G5 "energy farm" solutions employ multiple modular G5 units in a redundant microgrid configuration to enable dynamic load management, maximizing power reliability and flexibility and ensuring constant power to protect critical assets for diverse industry applications.
