Dr. Borlase is a Principal Consultant with ESTA International. He has over 25 years of experience in the modernization and business transformation of utility, energy, and industrial markets. His experience includes smart grid, grid real-time monitoring and control, substation and distribution automation, protective relaying systems, microgrid control systems, distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS), IEC 61850, digital substations, NERC compliance, IT/OT integration, and device and asset management.

Dr. Borlase has a Doctor of Engineering and Masters of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer. He is a GE certified Six Sigma Black Belt (DMAIC) and received the GE Energy Excellence award for “Imagination & Courage” for his work on smart grid business development and product management.
