Rolf Bienert

Bienert is responsible for crafting and managing the technical strategy, direction and activities of the OpenADR Alliance. Prior to his current position, Rolf was the technical manager for telecom and the Global Competence Center for emerging communication protocols at TUV Rheinland. In this role at TUV, Rolf was involved in many international standardization efforts and guided the company's efforts in these areas. He has been an active member of the NIST SGTCC, OpenADR Alliance, USNAP Alliance, SunSpec Alliance, ZigBee Alliance, and other organizations driving the development of new technologies with a specific focus on certification and interoperability.

Other past engagements include a variety of positions at international technology organizations. Rolf was Division Manager at TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc., and Vice President at KTL, Inc. providing technology and certification services to many international clients. Rolf started his career at Deutsche Telekom in Germany where he was responsible for the implementation of new central office systems and customer service.
