Carlos Nouel is responsible for enabling the transformation of the electric distribution business through multi-year investments in areas such as advanced metering and grid modernization functionality. In his role, Carlos is responsible for deploying the field technologies as well as modifying internal processes to unlock the value of the new solutions. He is also responsible for managing all demonstration projects and new technologies related to advanced metering and grid modernization.

Prior to this role, Carlos was the VP of New Energy Solutions (NES) where he was responsible for developing new products and services for customers. Prior to that, he was the Director of Partnerships for the same team. Carlos has also played different roles within National Grid, including in areas such as Energy Efficiency, Procurement, Supply Chain, Smart Grid, and Transformation office.

Carlos currently sits on the board of Directors for the Design Lighting Consortium which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to drive efficient lighting by defining quality, facilitating thought leadership, and delivering tools and resources to the lighting market through open dialogue and collaboration.
