Joe Bentley leads the Transmission & Distribution and Customer Services organizations for AES' United States Strategic Business Unit (SBU) that includes subsidiaries in Indianapolis, Indiana and Dayton, Ohio. Joe was also a Senior Investment Associate with IPALCO Enterprises and Principal with EnerTech Capital Partners, a venture capital firm in Wayne, Pennsylvania focused on early stage venture investments in energy and telecommunications. Joe received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1988. He has also taken advanced executive education courses at the University of Michigan and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Joe is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI) Dean's Industry Advisory Council and on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Midwest Energy Association. He and his family reside in Plainfield, Indiana.
