Electric Vehicles and Energy; How the Market Is Changing and What Utilities Can Learn From Early Adopters
Thursday, May 24, 2018 | 2:45 - 4:15 pm
This session will address all areas of electric vehicles (EVs) and the grid today. We will start by looking at marketplace adoption rates, and the point of view of the current EV owner: How are dealers adjusting? What are the issues holding back the market, and what are utilities offering in terms of smart charging programs? Next we will consider the ISO view of EVs, including what regulations will support adoption or hold back the market. Will large numbers of EVs being added to the grid become an issue? What opportunities do EVs bring to the grid management arena? Other issues to be covered include:
- Investment in EV infrastructure going forward
- The European marketplace
- EV batteries today and tomorrow
- EV's role in microgrids
- Smart City programs for EVs
- Developing policies for EV adoption
